Hi there friends and fans! Now that we’re past the end-of-year holidays, we’re excited to share with you the trends of the new year! Luckily, no matter the weather, accessories are always in style, which is this week’s focus…
Though Canada-based fashion brand Covet easily takes the cake for offering simply fantastic wardrobe pieces, we like them especially for demonstrating that green does not equal granola, and that contemporary fashion and ethics are not enemies…not even close. It’s something that we are constantly keeping in mind when designing our eco jewelry.
Now organic and sustainable fibers can shape the results of a garment – and we love how Covet makes it look so effortless. Truly an ideal green designer.
We swooned over designer duo Karen Stewart and Howard Brown‘s cozy and sophisticated fall collection. The couple have a knack for designing those kinds of pieces that you just might want to live in, supporting organic fabrics and ethical business practices wherever they can fit it between a knit and a purl.
We envisioned our designer eco jewelry, particularly from the Lucet Collection, as the perfect mate to their latest additions.

Another (particularly significant) contest on Polyvore has come to a close – and we’ve got lucky winners to announce! This October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in an effort to help spread awareness of this disease, we asked our fans to create a look using our 14 karat rose gold jewelry! During the month of October, 20% of all proceeds from the purchase of rose gold on our website is donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure – so we really appreciate that you all helped out by submitting entries to Rose to the Cause! Here’s the lineup:

Congratulations to Bridgett, who has just won $50 toward Kyler! We thought this was the perfect combination of incredibly unique pieces and important messaging. We also love that she chose other products made for Breast Cancer Awareness – overall it was the perfect amount of curious, and completely awesome!

A rich color palette and greater significance caught our attention with this set. We also loved how she took a simple pair of pumps and added her own rosy applique!
3rd Place – Mathew: Bravery
A beautifully curated and modern take on wearing some particularly fierce colors. And might we add that we’re so excited to try out that fabulous eye color this fall!

It’s been three years now since the opening of the LA-based Lavuk, and after viewing label-owner Natasha Gindin’s Fall 2011 line, we’re looking forward to so many more. What caught us most was her spot-on color forecasting, with the perfect bright reds, purples, and neutral grey combinations in simple silhouettes. So amazing, and made from comfortable eco-friendly materials!
We have to really give it to anyone that takes such initiative for sustainability, coming from all the way across the world! AND we have another brand that’s working with ReLeaf – planting a tree for every purchase made just like us!

Once again our fans on Polyvore have shown us their best with Kyler eco jewelry! We asked users to create a set with the #1 fall wardrobe must-have: The Midi Skirt along with jewelry from our collections! Setting some wide parameters for the contest requirements resulted a huge variety of outfits – we loved it!
Might we add that we’d like to congratulate all of our participants for having awesome style, but there were three in particular that will certainly inspire our autumn wardrobes!

We won’t deny that we are vintage junkies – we’re writing this post from a vintage shell chair right now! But flea markets and antiques fairs have a new vantage point appealing to the eco friendly market, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Buying vintage, especially for large items like furniture is technically more eco than any other earth-saving options out there. You’re buying something pre-owned, so in your new ownership nothing needs to be manufactured, and you’re saving that item from going into landfills.
So there you have it: Making old things new makes those things green!

These antique and vintage finds need a home (and not a landfill)! We’ve found some of our very favorite pieces of furniture at these events and can not only appreciate their provenance, but their rebirth as well!
We love New York designer Silvio Liu‘s approach to simple women’s wear design – with dedication to silhouette and keen fabric sourcing, the result is tailored yet casual, and only hints at being part of a specific season or trend.
Listed as one of Refinery29’s Top 10 Rising Designers, we wouldn’t be surprised if the brand’s prediction of celebrity fans comes true! These three picks from the Fall 2011 Collection are our faves – perfect with Kyler eco jewelry!

We asked our fans on Polyvore to show us how they would rock stripes with our eco jewelry, and they sure got it straight! By taking a classic year-round trend and combining it with stylish sustainable jewelry looks, we got to see a ton of cute sets, making this contest round a hard one to judge.
