Tangled Up in Leigh Wells and Pieced Back Together Again

We’ve had the pleasure of following San Francisco-based artist Leigh Wells for a while now. First it starts with one piece in the dining room, then another above the bed, and before you know it you’ve collected a decade of progress for a talented artist with bright ideas.

We proudly own some of her Tangle pieces from 2008 – getting the first pick was a welcome advantage to hosting Wells at our own studio, which boasted a wildly successful opening reception and a well-received show.

Now Leigh is experimenting even more with collage in ways that still show her keen use of space and harmonious elements, which always “reference social phenomenon, extreme religious beliefs, scientific theories, and other accepted bodies of knowledge”. Although simple in material and even content, her artwork just. seems. smart.

You can keep an eye on the next great thing Leigh Wells is working on at her blog, and start your collection by visiting her page on The Beholder. We can’t wait to see what’s coming!
